Writing about tech and sustainability in the wine industry is my specialty, particularly when it comes to my home country, New Zealand and my residence, Australia
As a freelance writer my stories about the wine industry can be found in several online and print publications, including, Cellar Press, the James Halliday Wine Companion Magazine, Gourmet Traveller WINE and SevenFifty Daily. I cover new technology and the latest climate and sustainability issues facing the industry for Australia and New Zealand Grapegrower & Winemaker, Wine Industry Advisor and The Drinks Business and you can hear me talk all things Aussie and Kiwi wine as a guest on the highly rated US podcast Wine for Normal People.
I also supply corporate clients with personalised gifts that showcase the best of New Zealand and Australian wines, together with other locally sourced goodies.
After careers as a professional flute player and IT project manager I switched to wine and completed the WSET Diploma in Hong Kong where I was subsequently awarded HKIWSC Scholarship for attaining the highest WSET Diploma score in Asia (2015).
Back in Melbourne, I was a member of the 55th AWRI AWAC (Advanced Wine Assessment Course) class in 2022, and in 2018 I was the Australian Alternative Varieties Wine Show Fellow. Further studies have included the Wine Scholar Guild Spanish Wine Scholar and the Wine Scholar Guild Rhône Master-Level Certificate where I was awarded Highest Honours in both exams. Judging and tasting panel experience includes Dan Murphy’s, Young Gun of Wine and Melbourne International Wine Challenge.
