Writing about sustainability and technology in the wine industry is my specialty, particularly when it comes to Australia and my home country New Zealand.
Articles examining how technology is supporting the wine industry in climate and sustainability management can be found in Australia and New Zealand Grapegrower & Winemaker, Wine Industry Advisor and The Drinks Business. You can hear me talk about all things Aussie and Kiwi wine as a guest on the highly rated US podcast Wine for Normal People.
As a freelance writer my stories can be found in several online and print publications, including, Cellar Press, the James Halliday Wine Companion Magazine, Gourmet Traveller WINE and SevenFifty Daily.
I made the switch to wine after careers in classical music and IT project management and completed the WSET Diploma in Hong Kong. Upon graduation I was awarded the HKIWSC Scholarship for attaining the highest WSET Diploma score in Asia.
After my studies I returned to Melbourne Australia where I founded the Happy Wine Woman wine club, in addition to teaching WSET classes and taking part in judging and tasting panels with Dan Murphy’s, Young Gun of Wine and Melbourne International Wine Challenge. I was also a member of the 55th AWRI AWAC (Advanced Wine Assessment Course), and a Fellow at the Australian Alternative Varieties Wine Show.
Further studies included the Wine Scholar Guild Spanish Wine Scholar and the Wine Scholar Guild Rhône Master Certificate where I was awarded Highest Honours in both exams.
Currently I live in London where I continue to work as a freelance writer.
